📚 Educational Qualifications Required

For PGT (Post Graduate Teacher):
Candidates must have a two-year Integrated Post Graduate MA/M.Sc. course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% aggregate marks. Alternatively, a post-graduate degree in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks, along with a B.Ed. degree is acceptable.

For TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher):
Candidates must possess a graduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree.

For PRT (Primary Teacher):
Candidates should have a graduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks, along with a two-year D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. degree from a recognized university.

For Computer/IT Subjects (PGT or TGT):
Candidates must have one of the following:

  1. B.E. or B.Tech (Computer Science/IT) or equivalent Degree or Diploma

  2. M.Sc. (Computer Science) / MCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science) / BCA + Postgraduate Degree

  3. B.E. or B.Tech in any stream with a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science

All qualifications must be from recognized universities/institutions and approved by the Government of India or relevant authorities.




Age Limit Criteria (as on 01 April 2025)

For Fresh Candidates (no teaching experience):
Minimum Age: 40 years

For Experienced Candidates (minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the last 10 years):
Maximum Age: 55 years

Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms. Proper documentation must be submitted during verification.




🧪 Selection Procedure

The selection process for AWES recruitment will be carried out in three stages:

1. Online Screening Test (OST):
This test will be conducted to assess general teaching aptitude and subject-specific knowledge. Those who qualify will be issued a Score Card, valid for life, provided the candidate takes up a teaching post in any CBSE-affiliated Army Public School within three years.

2. Interview:
Shortlisted candidates based on OST scores will be called for interviews conducted by the respective school management.

3. Teaching Skill & Computer Proficiency Test:
After the interview, candidates will be tested for teaching skills and basic computer knowledge. Language teachers may also undergo a written test to assess writing skills.

Final selection will be based on combined performance across all stages.

🗂️ AWES OST Score Card

Candidates who qualify the OST will be issued a Score Card with lifetime validity. This score card will allow them to apply directly to Army Public Schools whenever vacancies are advertised at the school level. It eliminates the need to reappear for OST every year unless the candidate fails to get appointed within three years of qualifying.
