🌬️💧 About Air and Water

Air and water are two of the most essential natural resources that make life possible on Earth. They are fundamental to the survival of all living organisms and play a key role in the planet’s ecological balance.

Air is a mixture of gases—primarily nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), and small amounts of other gases like argon, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. It forms the Earth’s atmosphere, which protects us from harmful solar radiation, regulates temperature, and enables breathing. Layers of the atmosphere—such as the troposphere and stratosphere—play crucial roles in weather patterns, climate control, and ozone protection.

Water covers about 71% of the Earth’s surface and exists in three states—solid (ice), liquid (water), and gas (water vapor). It cycles through nature via the water cycle, which includes evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and infiltration. Although water is abundant, only about 0.3% is accessible as freshwater for human use. Safe, clean water is essential for drinking, agriculture, sanitation, and industry.

Pollution of air and water due to human activities—like the emission of harmful gases, use of fossil fuels, and dumping of waste—poses serious environmental and health challenges. Understanding their composition, functions, purification methods, and conservation strategies is crucial for building a sustainable future.
