  1. iPhone 17 Series Goes on Sale in India
    Apple’s iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max officially went on sale in India today (September 19). Croma, a major electronics retailer, has rolled out offers including exchange bonuses, NeuCoins rewards, and other purchase incentives available through its stores, TRiBE by Croma, the Croma.com site, and Tata Neu app. 

  2. Satya Nadella Warns Microsoft Needs to Stay Relevant in AI Era
    At a recent town hall, Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, expressed concern that the company might not survive the AI revolution if it fails to keep pace. He emphasized the urgency of continuous innovation and adaptation, underlining the competitive pressures technology giants are facing. 

  3. Uttar Pradesh Unveils Grand Plan for AI, Deep Tech, and Manufacturing by 2047
    The UP government has launched a roadmap under its “Viksit UP-2047” vision, aiming to mould the state into a global hub for AI, deep technology, semiconductors, EV manufacturing, etc. Plans include creating “AI Cities” in Lucknow and Kanpur, boosting exports of software, setting up innovation centres, and distributing large numbers of devices to youth. 

  4. DPDP Rules to Be Released by September 28 in India
    The Government of India has announced that the administrative rules for the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act will be published by September 28, 2025. This is seen as a crucial step toward implementing the law in detail, including how data can be collected, stored, and used. 

  5. India to Host “AI Impact Summit 2026”; DPDP Rules Finalised
    IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the rules under DPDP are finalised and will be published soon. India will host the AI Impact Summit in 2026, with participation expected from various heads of government. He also highlighted infrastructure developments: over 38,000 GPUs currently in use, more being deployed, and more than 500 Data & AI labs planned. 

  6. More Firms Added to the India AI Mission for LLM Development
    Eight additional companies have been selected under the India AI Mission to develop large language models (LLMs). This brings the total number of participating firms to 12. Among them are IIT Bombay Consortium-BharatGen, Fractal Analytics, Tech Mahindra, Avataar AI, Zeinteiq Aitech Innovations, Genloop Intelligence, NeuroDX (Intellihealth), Shodh AI. The models are intended for diverse applications including agriculture, finance, health, legal, and education. Funding allocations vary; the IIT Bombay consortium got the largest share (~₹988.6 crore) for a foundation model with one trillion parameters. The government has deployed ~38,000 GPUs and plans for more, plus 500+ AI/data labs in coming years.

  7. Global Digital Health Summit 2025 Begins in Mumbai
    From September 19–21, over 2,000 delegates from 193 countries are gathering in Mumbai for the Global Digital Health Summit. The focus is on AI in healthcare, digital transformation, policymaking, and innovations in health tech. India is hosting this summit, marking its rising influence in global health-tech conversations. 

  8. UK-US Tech Pact & Big Tech AI Investments
    The UK and US have agreed on a large tech-collaboration deal, including substantial investments in AI and infrastructure. Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, and others are participating. 

  9. Instamart Quick India Movement Sale Kicks Off with Major Tech Discounts
    Instamart has launched its “Quick India Movement Sale” from September 19, offering fast delivery and deep discounts (50-90%) on over 50,000 products.
